THE MOOD
A red with real presence. Weeknight pasta, slow Sundays, and the dinners where you'd normally reach for a glass of something serious.
THE TASTE
Deep red fruit and a hint of cocoa, with soft tannins. Medium-bodied, smooth and dry. It drinks like red wine, because it started as one.
THE STORY
Organically grown Merlot, the soft, generous grape of Bordeaux and beyond, crafted on the Rhine in Rüdesheim, Germany. BonBon starts as real wine: grapes, fermentation, the works. Then the alcohol is drawn out gently at low temperature, so the aroma, freshness and structure stay behind. The tannins and depth that make a red feel grown-up are still in there. The labels are made with contemporary artists, including Spanish illustrator José Miguel Méndez and London's Hattie Stewart. It's a bottle you'll want on the table, and maybe on the shelf after. Under 0.5% alc./vol., 30 calories a glass. Just landed in Victoria, and our first allocation is small.
THE RITUAL
Serve at 16–18°C in a red wine glass. Pour it with pasta, roast chicken, grilled vegetables, gochujang-glazed ribs or a square of dark chocolate. Once opened, keep it cold and finish within 3–5 days.
